“World Of Difference” powerfully portrays the work of Rotary in developing countries. We visit well resourced and well run Rotary supported projects. This contrasts with villages and schools in need of Rotary support. During visits we provide donations and volunteering. Each tour builds on the last to provide on going dental hygiene checks, English, knitting and craft classes. The tours: * Visit several Rotary projects while comparing and contrasting local areas that need Rotary * Balance the activities with various tourist experience * Provide accommodation in 3-4 star comfortable and well equipped hotels
All aspects of administration of the tours is provided by Rotarians volunteering their time and efforts. All profits are donated back to projects, with some donations on tour. The tour costs are all inclusive and are amazingly affordable because there are no administration expenses Tours have been offered since 2010. They make a world of difference to the participants, the local people and the projects supported. And add to that.. around $100,000 has been provided in donations via the last 10 tours. (from the WOD website) PP Heather has escorted 2 groups of students from Rochester Secondary College on WOD tours to Cambodia and in December, PE Bryan will be joining a tour which includes 2 other Rochester residents along with students from Echuca SC & Rochester SC.
