Pres. Noel welcomed Rotarians Heather, Bryan, Graeme, Russell, Stewart and Noel and Rotary Partners Pam, Jeanette and Robyn.

International Service: A Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) Information Seminar is to be held on Saturday 7th Feb. at Lifesaving Victoria. This is an opportunity to learn more of a wonderful humanitarian program that has provided medical treatment so that more than 400 children from countries such as Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, the Solomon Islands and Vietnam are able to lead meaningful lives.

Court House: The floors have now been cleared and all is in hand for the contractors to commence the sanding, varnishing and polishing this coming Tuesday. The erection of the garden shed has now been completed although another working bee will have to be held to tidy up the surrounding area, the grounds and toilet.

50th Anniversary: After 3 months, several phone calls and a letter, the bond for the hire of the Shire Hall has finally been returned and as a result, Pres. Noel presented the final financial statements for the event.

Fund-raising BBQ: It must have been the holiday period because sales were a little slower than usual however we still made a profit of $650.00. The next BBQ will be held on Saturday, 7th February. Members, your assistance on the roster is appreciated.

End Polio Now: RC Bendigo Strathdale, on behalf of the Goldfields Cluster will be hosting a screening of “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” at the Bendigo Cinema on Thursday, 26th February. Cost $20 of which $10 will go to the End Polio Now Campaign. RC of Rochester members will be attending this function in lieu of the normal weekly meeting.

Mural Festival: PP Heather reported on her meeting with Festival representatives. Rotary and CWA will share the responsibility of providing tea, coffee and slices to artists, volunteers and visitors using the facilities of the Court House. A photographic exhibition highlighting club participation in programs in Timor Leste and World of Difference Tours to Cambodia will be held in the main hall while materials promoting Rotary from both a local, District and International aspect will be available in the front room. A gold coin donation will gain entry to the exhibition.

Rochester A&P Society: Members are reminded of Show Gate duty on Friday 27th February.

Pie & Port Night:  As both President Noel and Secretary Heather will be absent on Saturday 2nd  May, the planned  dat for this year’s Pie and Port, a decision re the holding of the event will be made at the next Board Meeting.
