Apologies: Joe Flynn

Youth: Director Russell Anderson reported that we have two applicants, Rebecca Kellett and Beth

Andrews for the Model United Nations Assembly ( MUNA). The girls have been allocated Syria as their

designated country, an interesting choice due to present conditions in that country. Environment, Human

Rights, Health & Education, Trade & Commerce, Middle East and United Nations are the topics to be

covered in debate.

Other countries covered at MUNA are Germany, Russia, Ukraine, India, Australia, Israel, North Korea,

USA, China, Japan, Central African Republic, France, UK, Turkey, Afganistan, Indonesia and South

Korea.

Fund Raising: The BBQ at Bunnings on Sunday 20th realized a profit of $487.61. A full report will be

given at the next meeting. Thanks to all who assisted.

Rotarians at Work: Work is required at Rotary Park as well as at the community asset, namely the

Historic Court House. A skip bin is to be hired to assist in the cleanup of the Court House surrounds.

‘The Bus’:

PP Graeme reported that repairs to The Bus should be completed by the end of the week. The roof has

been replaced and the seats will be re-positioned and the interior finished.

Improving Health and Wellbeing through Participation

Mary Magennis presented members with the list of health issues that had been identified during

workshops conducted with 17 community groups including the Rotary Club of Rochester. Members

looked at these issues alongside those identified through evidence-based research. Members were asked

to read through the supplied lists and to identify issues that they considered to be of most importance.

These issues are now to be prioritised and projects along with relevant funding models identified.

Pie & Port: Pres. Heather reminded members that this event will take place on Saturday 3rd May at the

Fire Station. Please notify Heather of your attendance.

Rochester Fine Art Exhibition 24th – 27th April:

If you haven’t already done so, tickets for the Opening Night on Thursday 24th April may also purchased

at Dingwall’s Newsagency.

PP Ray is to follow up discussions with Cr Wilson as to the Council review of town toilet facilities.

Messages of sympathy have been sent to Rick & Vicki Reid and to Di & Chris Holland who have

lost family members in the past weeks
