News from Ainaro: This was Heather’s last week in Ainaro and on Thursday a class party was held to present participation certificates and photos. The fried rice Heather cooked for the students was a hit along with the pawn crackers and biscuits. The students presented Heather and Carmel with Tais, the traditional cloth, anddancing was enjoyed by all. Earlier in the week a documentary film crew from Radio Television Timor Leste visited the classroom to film class activities and to interview Carmel & some of the students. A trip to the waterhole was made on Saturday and Heather was pleased to find that she managed the steep descent and the climb over the rocks much easier than she did in 2012. Time was spent packing up and storing resources from the Teachers’ House in preparation for their departure to Dili.
