Meeting Venue: Rochester Wine Bar
Meeting Cancelled: The meeting of 29th May will be a Social Outing as members attend the Echuca Musical Theatre Groups production of Li’l Abner.
Following the traditional opening, President Heather welcomed Rotarians and Partners of Members to the
weekly meeting. A warm welcome was extended to ADG Grant Hocking and the Guest Speaker for the
evening, Optometrist Richard Lennie.

ADG Grant congratulated the Club on the year’s efforts and achievements and informed members of the
District’s cluster regroupings. Rotary Club of Rochester will now be one of four clubs in the Goldfields
North Cluster with Greg Noonan of Bendigo South as ADG.
ADG Grant presented Pres. Heather with a banner from Rotary Club of Woodend.
30 Year Service Award:
PP Noel Schier was inducted into the membership of the Rotary Club of Rochester on 10th May 1984.
Pres. Heather presented a certificate to Noel in recognition of his outstanding service to our Club and
community.
ROADEC: Chairman Graeme reported on the District Assembly where he took the opportunity of
distributing 80 ROADEC presentation packs to interested participants.
PP Graeme also announced that a site for promotional purposes is again available for ROADEC at
Elmore Field Days on 7,8 & 9 October 2014.
Court House: Progress continues slowly. Work continues this week on the roof and the replacement of lead lighting. PP Ray has had discussion with Heritage Victoria re continuing funding.
Mural Fest: Judy Anderson spoke briefly of the Mural Fest to be held over the Labour Day weekend,
March 2015. Eight murals to the theme of “Ride like the Wind” are planned for permanent display at
the southern end of Moore Street. More details will be forthcoming as planning progresses.
Guest Speaker: In recognition of Macular Degeneration Week, 25 -31 May, Richard Lennie gave a
most informative talk about the effects of this condition which unfortunately is not reserved for old age
but which can be treated if detected in the early stages. Richard asked that those present to never ignore
changes in vision, reminding them that eye health is as important as body health
