We missed the company of Ray Lewis.
Grace was said by Bryan Griffiths and the Toast proposed by Graeme Nelson.
Australia Day: Secretary Bryan was pleased to announce that the Club’s nomination of the Fine Art Exhibition has been named as the Rochester Art Group of the Year.
Thanks were extended to Robyn for preparing the nomination.
New Generations:
Youth in Sailing: It was good to have coverage in the Campaspe News about Hayden Sutton’s planned participation in this event.
Russell met with Hayden, Hayden’s dad and sister, Chrissy Weller and the 3 students sponsored by RC Echuca-Moama prior to their departure Thursday morning from the Rochester Station. Chrissy is chaperoning the students and will see them safely home on Sunday. From all reports they are having a great time.
Adventure in Leadership: It was agreed that Russell contact the Secondary College to inform students of this programme to be held in May.
Pres. Heather reported on the latest Presidents’ meeting. As reported in last week’s bulletin, Goldfields Cluster is to be split in 2 but will be known as Goldfields 1 and 2 rather than as previously reported, North and South. It has been decided, though, that the Cluster will meet as one group in order to facilitate ongoing projects especially those organised by the Bendigo Clubs.
Heather also reminded members of the Australia Day Celebrations. The Lions Club Breakfast will commence at 7.30am and will be followed by the Flag-raising ceremony at 9. The Australia Day Dinner and Presentation to Citizen of the Year, Joan Jenkins will take place 6.30 – 7.00pm
Treasurer Russell reminder: Half Year membership subscriptions of $130.00 are due.
