Pres. Noel welcomed Rotarians Heather, Ray, Graeme, Noel, Stewart, Russell and Bryan along with Rotary Partners Jeanette, Pam, Robyn and Graeme to the first meeting of 2015.

Armed with electric sanders, sand paper and scrappers all were busily employed preparing the walls and window frames of the Court House for painting. Over the past few weeks, Pres. Noel has been improving on his plastering skills, filling in the many cracks and gaps that were evident after the underpinning work was completed and floors and skirting-boards replaced. Work will continue over the next couple of weeks with the aim of having the main hall ready for a possible photographic exhibition to be held as part of the Rochester Festival over the long weekend in March.

Thanks to Stewart for arranging the Christmas Meeting held at The Drovers’ Arms, Goornong. An enjoyable evening was had by all in attendance. A tour of Rochester’s Christmas lights and a visit to Ken Hocking’s display completed the night. Thank you Graeme for being the designated driver.

World of Difference: PP Heather reported on the very successful tour to Cambodia with students from RSC. Donations and gifts were left at various villages and the children certainly appreciated the “stuff” collected by Stewart. Hopefully we will hear more from the students in the following weeks.

International: Stewart informed members of the Expo to be held in Bendigo. If held in conjunction with Australia Day celebrations, this will prevent our participation as we are committed to assisting with festivities in Rochester on that day.
