FARSE: Tuesday 18th August dawned bright and sunny, a perfect day for the 601 students from 14 district schools to visit the Rochester Recreational Reserve for the annual Farm & Road Safety Expo. Eighteen different exhibitors provided the students with a variety of safety information with practical demonstrations. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Police exhibit was kept busy as students tried on shirts and hats and took many “selfies’ as they inspected the cars and divvy van. By the end of the day there was little left of the car used by the SES to demonstrate the Jaws of Life.

Thanks to the “Crossing Ladies” all in attendance now know the correct procedures for using school crossings while Cheryl Nelson stressed the importance of maintaining riding gear for horse owners. The Lions Club & Show Society looked after the BBQs while Probus members delivered much needed refreshments to the exhibitors.
