Next Meeting: 26th February – End Polio Now Film Evening at Bendigo Cinema commencing at 6.45pm. Members & Partners attending, Noel & Robyn, Graeme & Jeanette, Stewart & Pam, Ray & Moira, and Noel and Bryan are to collect tickets at the cinema.

Pres. Noel welcomed Rotarians Heather, Russell, Noel, Graeme, Bryan, Ray and Stewart along with Rotary Partners Pam, Jeanette and Robyn.

 Treasurer Russell attended the meeting sporting brightly decorated green fingernails. These were the result of a visit to the Chemmart Pharmacy where the girls were offering the nail painting service to highlight awareness of cervical cancer. Unlike some local businessmen, Russell was not afraid to show off his colourful nails, nor to explain his new fashion accessory.

Court House: The internal electrical works including the fitting of new power points and the installation of a new switchboard unit has now been completed leaving a bit of filling and patching of the wall from where the original switchboard was removed. With the toilet block cleaned and the yard levelled and tidied much is now in readiness for the Photo Exhibition & Display to be held 1st through to 8th March. Thanks to the Secondary students who assisted with the cleanup on a rather warm day. The photos are now ready to be hung and the “Let’s promote Rotary” display is almost complete and invitations have been sent out for the Saturday evening function. RC Rochester assisted by Rochester CWA will be selling slices, tea and coffee to visitors to the Mural Festival and will be providing tea & coffee to the artists and volunteers. Thanks to members and partners who have offered to “man” the display and to provide slices as well as finger food to be served on the Saturday evening. A working bee will be held on Saturday afternoon, 21st Feb. to commence hanging the photos and to assist with the final cleanup.As part of the Photographic Exhibition, members of the Campaspe East Timor Association will be selling traditional handcrafts at the display.

Youth Service: Information regarding the application process for the 2016 National Youth Science Forum has been passed to the relevant staff member at the Secondary College. Due to the withdrawal of a major sponsor, costs for NYSF have risen quite steeply.

ROADEC: On Friday 20th February, District Chair Community Service, Marjorie Gerlinger accompanied by DG Murray and assorted ADGs will be visiting ROADEC, a District Endorsed Project.

 FARSE: Due to increased cost, it has been decided that the Aussie Bush group will not be invited to attend this year’s FARSE. Meanwhile further investigations will be made to replace exhibits.

Pie & Port Night: After 30+ years it has been decided that Pie & Port will not be held this year.

Valentine’s Day Ball: Coming home the proud winner of 2 raffles, Bryan reported on this successful fundraiser organised by the Combined RCs of Bendigo in support of the Oncology Department of the Bendigo Hospital.
