Welcome Home: PP Heather returned home on Wednesday after spending 10 weeks in Timor Leste.

During the past week, time was spent relaxing on the island of Atauro and exploring Dili. While in Dili,

Heather met with Daryl Mills, the Rotary International Liaison officer in Timor and learnt of the many

projects that are being undertaken all over Timor Leste. Daryl works with many other organizations,

not only Rotary. The opportunity was taken to visit the Rotary Club of Dili where the guest speaker was

a former US Ambassador to Timor Leste, who is a Rotarian from Louisiana. In his address he classified

Rotary Clubs into two groups – those who say “we must do that” and the others who actually get things

done.

My Day: PP Russell took us through the daily routine of his business from his early morning walk to work, his

duties that must be undertaken before the doors are open to customers to his contact with staff and

customers.

Getting to Know You: We were pleased to welcome Eamonn Tiernan, recently appointed editor of our local Campaspe News.

Originally from Brisbane, and with a passionate interest in sports journalism, Eamonn is looking forward

to meeting with members of the local community as he settles into his new position.
