Arrangements are being made for this Display to have a Shop frontage in Gillies Street Rochester for the coming weeks.

Foundation Director Ray Lewis has taken the role of revamping the Display for attracting greater community interest.

President Heather reported to members from the Show Committee regarding the success of conducting the Annual Show.

Crowd attendances on Friday night and Saturday where disappointing.

Entries for Homecrafts, along with Livestock where not at the level they have been in previous years.

Whilst it is always good to see new events commence in the Community for all to enjoy,it is hoped that it is never at the expense of traditional events, such as the Annual Agricultural & Pastoral Show.

An event that generation of families have come to enjoy

The need to make people more aware of the work of Rotary in the Community, along with encouraging them to part in preparation of Community projects can never be overlooked

A further word from our Northern travellers:
We ended up with about 110mm for the week. The Blackall-Adavale road is still closed due to washouts at culverts, but we were able to get into Blackall on Wednesday afternoon to pick up supplies. This coming week will see us head to Longreach to attend a Home Tutor Workshop. These occasions are a highlight of the year allowing the Mums to get together to discuss problems /solutions in their classrooms and to attend the annual meeting of the Isolated Parents Committee. Longreach has a very active committee and our hostess here at Mt Calder is the Chair of the Tourism Committee; a very active group that encourages tourists to the area to visit the School of Distance Education to observe on air classes then stock up on souvenirs. For the children it is a chance to attend a regular school with their teachers and the classmates they usually only see on the daily computer conference call.
